A procedural error by Judge Peinado has led to the dismissal of a case involving alleged prevarication linked to a senior official in the government of Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida and journalist Eduardo Inda. The mistake reportedly involved allowing the case to lapse, invalidating part of the investigation related to a €72,600 contract awarded without a competitive process. This error prevented further investigative actions and forced the closure of the inquiry. The political group Más Madrid has called for disciplinary action against Judge Peinado through the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), citing negligence in handling the case. Separately, a National Police officer admitted in court to conducting searches on former Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias following a false accusation involving Miguel Urbán and a cocaine trafficking operation.
