Supreme Court Rejects Judge Peinado's Request to Investigate Félix Bolaños for Embezzlement, False Testimony in Begoña Gómez Case

Félix Bolaños has strongly criticized the decision by Judge Peinado to request an investigation into him, describing the judge's report as containing "errors of bulto" and lacking foundation. Bolaños expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would reject the request. On July 15, 2025, the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber dismissed Judge Peinado's petition to investigate Bolaños for alleged embezzlement and false testimony, citing an "absolute absence" of evidence against the minister. Following the ruling, Bolaños stated that the decision "puts things in their place" and predicted that the case related to Begoña Gómez would gradually fade away. He also accused those who raised doubts about his involvement of attempting to harm his family. The minister reiterated that there was never any basis for the accusations against him.
