Both Vox and DTN previously collaborated on anti-immigration campaigns, including one in Barcelona in March 2025. Political party Podemos has condemned Vox's rhetoric, attributing the racist violence and terrorism in Torre Pacheco to the party's hate speech, misinformation, and incitement. Podemos also criticized certain media outlets for amplifying far-right voices. The attacks have been described by Podemos as acts of far-right racist terrorism, with direct responsibility attributed to Vox leaders Santiago Abascal and Antelo for encouraging these violent actions against migrants and racialized individuals.
