The Summerlin South Little League team from Nevada won the U.S. Championship at the 2025 Little League World Series (LLWS) by defeating Fairfield, Connecticut, 8-2 on August 23 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This victory marked the first time a Nevada team has won the LLWS U.S. championship game. The team advanced to the LLWS title game held on August 24, where they faced the international champion Chinese Taipei. Chinese Taipei won the championship game 7-0, securing their 18th LLWS title and their first since 1996. The LLWS final was broadcast on ABC. Summerlin South's successful run garnered widespread local support, including a celebratory display at the Fremont Street Experience canopy and a planned parade in Downtown Summerlin. The team raised $104,000 through a GoFundMe fundraiser and donations from local sports franchises and contributors to cover travel expenses. The championship run inspired many young athletes in Nevada, and the players received recognition from local officials and sports figures. Despite the loss in the final, Summerlin South returned home to a warm welcome and community celebrations honoring their achievement as U.S. champions.
