Graphite, an AI-powered code review platform, has raised $52 million in a Series B funding round led by Accel, with participation from Anthropic's Anthology Fund, Menlo Ventures, Shopify Ventures, Figma Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and The General Partnership. The company, founded in 2020 by former engineers from Facebook, Airbnb, and Google, has seen rapid growth, with revenue increasing 20x in 2024 and its platform now used by tens of thousands of engineers at over 500 companies. Graphite has also launched a new AI code review tool called Diamond, which autonomously reviews GitHub pull requests, catching bugs, security vulnerabilities, and style issues. Diamond adapts to team-specific coding patterns with customizable rules and is free for up to 100 pull requests per month. The platform is also available for teams of all sizes, further enhancing its accessibility. The funding will support Graphite's product development and team expansion. The company integrates Anthropic's Claude AI to enhance its code review capabilities and competes with tools like GitHub Copilot and startups such as Anysphere and Codeium. Its platform addresses challenges in software development caused by increased AI-generated code, streamlining the review process and improving code quality.
