Electronic Arts (EA) launched the open beta for Battlefield 6 on August 9, 2025, marking the largest beta in the series' history. The beta quickly attracted a peak concurrent player count of 520,000 on Steam, surpassing the previous record held by Call of Duty's Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 launch, which peaked at 491,000 players. The beta was available in two phases: early access from August 7-8 and open beta from August 9-10 and August 14-17. Despite requiring players to enable Secure Boot to access the playtest, the beta experienced numerous cheating attempts, with EA's anti-cheat software blocking over 330,000 attempts and reviewing more than 100,000 reports from players. The open beta generated considerable in-game activity, with players causing approximately $70 billion in virtual property damage. Following the first weekend, developers announced adjustments to helicopter controls and were investigating reports of unexpectedly fast time-to-kill. The second weekend of the beta introduced new modes such as Rush and Squad Deathmatch, a new map called Empire State, and enhanced matchmaking customization options allowing players to select specific modes and maps. Players could also check detailed stats including shot accuracy, kill/death ratio, total kills, revives, and most played classes and modes. EA's stock reached an all-time high amid the beta's success, underscoring strong market confidence in Battlefield 6 ahead of its full release.
