Israeli ground forces pushed deeper into Syria’s Quneitra countryside on 9 August, according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency and other local reports. A convoy of about ten Israeli military vehicles was seen advancing from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights toward the villages of Ruwaihinah and Rasm al-Halabi, while a separate Israeli contingent moved out of the nearby Tal Ahmar base. Syrian outlets said the units subsequently fanned out across several villages in the largely rural governorate, but gave no details on casualties or the duration of the deployment. Israel has not commented publicly on the reports. The Quneitra region, which borders the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, has been a frequent flashpoint during Israel’s long-running conflict with Iran-backed groups operating in Syria.
