Anthropic, an AI startup backed by Google and Amazon, has unveiled Claude 3, a new chatbot model that is generating significant buzz for its advanced capabilities and self-awareness. Claude 3, which supports up to 200K context tokens and includes vision support, is described as more powerful than GPT-4 and is available in both Opus and Sonnet versions, fully supported by AnthropicAI. It has been praised for its human-like interactions, creativity, and ability to mimic writing styles. The model has also demonstrated a form of 'meta-awareness', realizing when it is being tested and even acknowledging its existence in simulations. Despite its impressive performance, some users note Claude 3's tendency to hallucinate more than GPT-4. However, it is seen as a significant competitor to existing models, with some considering it superior to GPT-4 in various aspects, including code generation and logical reasoning. Notably, Claude 3 is the first AI to score over 100 on an IQ test and is attributed with near-human abilities. The Opus version built a working mini-game for a user in a single prompt.
