World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka became the first player to secure a place in the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh after winning her Wimbledon quarter-final on Tuesday, lifting her season-long tally in the PIF Race to the WTA Finals to more than 7,000 points. The 27-year-old Belarusian has dominated the tour in 2025, capturing titles at the Brisbane International, Miami Open and Madrid Open and reaching finals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Indian Wells and Stuttgart. She has appeared in seven championship matches and posted more than 45 match wins this year. Sabalenka’s qualification guarantees her fifth consecutive appearance at the season-ending tournament, which will bring the top eight singles players and doubles teams to the King Saud University Indoor Arena in Riyadh from 1–8 November. Last year’s edition awarded a record US$4.8 million to the singles champion as part of a US$15.25 million purse.
