Russian 17th seed Karen Khachanov became the first player to secure a place in the Wimbledon 2025 men’s quarter-finals, defeating Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 on Sunday on Court 2. Khachanov piled up 44 winners against 21 unforced errors and broke serve five times, reaching his sixth career Grand Slam quarter-final and matching his best result at the All England Club after his 2021 run. Majchrzak, ranked No. 109, was contesting the last 16 of a major for the first time. The 28-year-old former US Open and Australian Open semi-finalist will meet either No. 5 seed Taylor Fritz or Australia’s Jordan Thompson for a place in the semi-finals.
