CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel delivered speeches at multiple 'Millet İradesine Sahip Çıkıyor' rallies in Amasya and Kartal, criticizing the ruling AKP and MHP parties for economic mismanagement and political repression. Özel accused the AKP of spending 1,300 times more than needed to secure its power while failing to address citizens' needs. He highlighted the decline in retirees' purchasing power, noting that the lowest pension now buys only two quarters of gold compared to eight before AKP's rule, effectively costing retirees six quarters of gold monthly. Özel also referenced a costly political crisis with an estimated economic toll of $150 billion. He called on AKP and MHP supporters to distance themselves from the current government and predicted the end of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's tenure, asserting that Ekrem İmamoğlu would succeed him. Özel further accused certain officials, including Yusuf Tekin, of wrongdoing and promised legal accountability through a parliamentary tribunal. The speeches included references to alleged political conspiracies and provocations. In response, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun condemned Özel's rhetoric as threatening and provocative, accusing him of undermining social peace and national unity by encouraging street protests. Altun emphasized that the sovereignty of the people is expressed solely through elections under the rule of law, rejecting any calls for extra-parliamentary actions.
