Following the 17th BRICS Summit held in Brazil, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized Turkey's continued close interest in the BRICS bloc. Fidan noted that the international community is keen to benefit from Turkey's experience and perspectives. He also mentioned the possibility of a meeting hosted by Turkey involving Russian President Vladimir Putin, former U.S. President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski. Additionally, Fidan addressed the situation in Gaza, stating that as the crisis escalated to the level of genocide, even some actors within the international system that typically support Israel have chosen to distance themselves from it. On the sidelines of the summit, Turkish and Russian foreign ministers discussed bilateral political and economic issues, underscoring ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
