CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger have officially announced the production of "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2," a new standalone 10-episode anime series set in the world of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. The sequel will present a fresh storyline centered on themes of redemption and revenge, distinct from the original series' cast. Directed by Kai Ikarashi and animated by Studio Trigger, the series will continue to explore the dystopian setting of Night City. Netflix confirmed it will stream the new season once completed. A teaser trailer has been released, emphasizing that while the character David is dead, Night City remains alive. The announcement was made at Anime Expo 2025, where the showrunner and developers shared details about the upcoming series.
