HBO Max said Friday that its "Sex and the City" spin-off "And Just Like That" will conclude with the current third season. Showrunner Michael Patrick King announced the decision in a statement on social media, saying that while writing the finale it "became clear this might be a wonderful place to stop." The season’s order has been expanded from 10 to 12 episodes, with a two-part finale scheduled for release on 14 August. King said the delay in revealing the move was intended to avoid the word "final" overshadowing viewers’ enjoyment of the season. The series, which revived the original franchise in December 2021, reunited stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York. Executive producers Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey joined King in the decision to wrap up the show, closing a 27-year chapter that began with the debut of "Sex and the City" in 1998.
