Netflix is developing a fourth season of Ryan Murphy's anthology series "Monster," which will focus on Lizzie Borden, the woman accused of the 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother. The season is reportedly in pre-production with a potential fall shoot planned. This follows the third season, which stars Charlie Hunnam as serial killer Ed Gein. The new season will continue Murphy's pattern of exploring infamous true crime cases through a female protagonist. Separately, Ryan Murphy's series "The Shards," based on Bret Easton Ellis's novel, has been officially picked up by FX. The show has cast Igby Rigney as a young Bret Easton Ellis, with Homer James Jigme Gere and Graham Campbell joining as Robert and Thom, respectively. Kaia Gerber is also part of the leading cast for "The Shards."
