Versant, the recently created company that houses a portfolio of former NBCUniversal cable assets, is shutting down the nightly television edition of “E! News” and will air its final episode on 25 September 2025. The half-hour entertainment-news program debuted in 1991 and currently runs at 11:30 p.m. About 20 staff members were told of the decision on Thursday, with some positions expected to be redeployed elsewhere inside Versant. The company said the “E! News” brand will live on through social media and other digital formats, reflecting the shift of celebrity-news consumption to mobile platforms. Video views on Instagram and TikTok for the brand have risen roughly 50 % over the past year, according to internal figures cited in a staff memo. The cancellation marks the first notable programming move by Versant since NBCUniversal carved out the cable group earlier this year. Other entertainment shows such as “Access Hollywood” and “Access Daily” are not affected. “E! News” is hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester and remains a staple of red-carpet coverage until its linear run concludes.

E! was an iconic channel tbh. Big cultural moment for it to be ending. End of an era. It launched the Kardashians, The Simple Life (remember that?), The Soup slapped, Joan Rivers hilariously roasted people on Fashion Police, Botched was entertaining. A watershed moment. https://t.co/rBiYzsJAvZ
