Since late June 2025, Russian forces have conducted multiple drone strikes using "Geran" and "Geran-2" unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across various regions of Ukraine. The strikes have targeted locations including Cherkasy, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kramatorsk, Odesa, and Kryvyi Rih. Notably, attacks have been reported on infrastructure such as Zhulyany Airport in Kyiv and several districts within Kyiv Oblast, including Brovary. The number of drones involved in these operations has varied, with reports indicating at least 30 to over 110 UAVs active in Ukrainian airspace at different times. Ukrainian aviation has also reportedly targeted enemy drone operator locations within Russian territory. The strikes have resulted in multiple explosions and air raid alerts in affected regions, with ongoing operations continuing into mid-July 2025.
