Ukraine marked Constitution Day on June 28, 2025, commemorating the adoption of its constitution in 1996, which affirms the country's sovereignty, independence, democracy, and inviolable borders. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and its people remain steadfast despite ongoing Russian aggression that challenges the nation's existence. He highlighted the importance of the social contract prioritizing Ukraine above all, and praised the citizens for their dedication to upholding constitutional values through their actions and sacrifices. In early July, Ukraine also observed the Day of Army Aviation and the Day of the Naval Forces. The Army Aviation Day honored the mobile troops of the Land Forces, recognizing their roles in fire support, troop insertion, ammunition delivery, and medical evacuation on the front lines. The Naval Forces Day celebrated Ukraine's naval personnel for their defense of the country's waters, including maintaining the grain corridor, controlling Snake Island, and disrupting Russian naval operations. Since 2022, Ukraine has reportedly damaged or destroyed 28 Russian warships and one submarine, significantly weakening the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which has been pushed into remote eastern bays near Crimea. Ukrainian partisans noted that Crimea's Striletska Bay is nearly empty of Russian ships, with remaining units frequently rotated to avoid detection. President Zelensky awarded state honors to servicemen on Navy Day, acknowledging their strategic contributions to Ukraine's security and liberation efforts. Throughout these commemorations, Zelensky reiterated the resilience and commitment of the Ukrainian people and armed forces in defending the nation's independence and democratic future.
