On June 20, Russian banks experienced significant disruptions in payment processing due to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The attack, reportedly the largest in history, targeted multiple financial systems and banks, including VTB, Sberbank, Tinkoff, Alfa-Bank, Beeline, MTS, Rostelecom, Gazprombank, MegaFon, SBP, NSPK, and EIRTs. The Ukrainian IT army claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, which also disabled Russia's Mir payment system. Kommersant Daily reported that Russians faced problems with processing payments at major banks following the attack.
