Newsom said the store logged more than $50,000 in sales within its first three hours online and later claimed receipts had surpassed $100,000. Proceeds are earmarked for the governor’s proposal to redraw California’s congressional map—an effort that Democrats say could net the party up to five additional House seats in the 2026 midterm elections. The merch launch extends Newsom’s month-long strategy of parodying the president’s all-caps social-media style as he seeks to energize Democratic supporters and spotlight what he calls the “absurdity” of Trump’s political branding.
