Watchdog Seeks Arkansas Bar Probe of Hillary Clinton’s Law License

Government watchdog Democracy Restored on 20 Aug. filed an ethics complaint with the Arkansas Supreme Court Office of Professional Conduct seeking a formal review of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s law license. The group asks the Arkansas Bar Association to determine whether the former secretary of state’s alleged role in the 2016 Russia investigation into Donald Trump violates the state’s Rules of Professional Conduct. The filing cites recently declassified Senate Judiciary Committee documents that suggest Clinton approved a plan to disseminate unverified information intended to damage Trump’s presidential campaign, actions the complaint says breach rules on dishonesty and prejudice to the administration of justice. It also alleges she helped amplify the material through the media and federal law-enforcement channels during what became known as Operation Crossfire Hurricane. A spokesperson for the Arkansas disciplinary office confirmed receipt of the grievance and said it will be processed under normal procedures. No criminal charges have been brought against Clinton, and her office did not immediately comment. The complaint argues that the legal profession holds members to higher standards regardless of whether conduct has resulted in indictments.
