Gun Owners of America gathered hundreds of activists, lawmakers and industry executives in Tennessee over the weekend for its GOALS summit, a two-day series of panels on firearms policy, technology and litigation. Federal Affairs Senior Vice President Erich Pratt opened the Aug. 9–10 meeting, which drew pro-gun members of Congress including Representatives Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Victoria Spartz of Indiana, as well as Pinal County, Arizona, Sheriff Mark Lamb and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The advocacy group used the event to spotlight several outreach programs, naming Suk Smith as chair of Empowered2A, a new initiative aimed at female gun owners, and installing Ali Valdes to lead Fuerza2A, which is focused on Hispanic communities. GOA and its affiliated Gun Owners Foundation also promoted ongoing lawsuits that challenge federal and state firearm restrictions and convened a panel of attorneys to discuss pending Second Amendment cases. Conference organisers presented the 2025 H. L. Richardson Award for grassroots leadership to Jared Yanis, host of the "Guns & Gadgets" channel. Industry figures from Brownells, Palmetto State Armory and other manufacturers outlined developments in firearms design, while legal scholars and historians provided context on recent court rulings and historical trends in gun regulation.
