I have just been informed by @RepTimBurchett that his team was also not invited by @conginst. Remember, it’s Burchett’s bill to ban stock trading for members that I am forcing a vote on. We are being met with massive opposition behind the scenes on this.

BREAKING: Representative Anna Paulina Luna has implied that she is being excluded from GOP events due to her effort to force a vote on a congressional stock trading ban.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said on 11 Aug that she, her staff and the team of Rep. Tim Burchett were not allowed to attend a series of Republican messaging sessions run by the Congressional Institute, an organization led by Kelle Strickland that advises the party on strategy. Luna contends the exclusion followed her effort to force a floor vote on Burchett’s bill that would bar members of Congress from trading individual stocks. Luna, a Florida Republican, wrote that event organizers told her aides registration was closed despite invitations having been sent to the full GOP conference. She added that Burchett, the Tennessee lawmaker who introduced the stock-trading prohibition, informed her his office also received no invitation. The dispute highlights friction inside the party as some Republicans push for tighter ethics rules. House GOP leaders and the Congressional Institute had not publicly responded to the accusations in the statements reviewed.
