President Donald Trump’s recently enacted One Big Beautiful Bill—a sweeping package of tax incentives and spending aimed at revitalising American manufacturing and agriculture—is moving into the rollout phase, with lawmakers fanning out across the country to highlight early results. House Republicans this week launched a multi-state “Made in America Manufacturing Tour,” stopping at factories in Iowa, Ohio, Michigan and Georgia. In Iowa, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks visited concrete-equipment maker Cement Tech in Indianola, agricultural-machinery producer Vermeer in Pella and steelmaker SSAB in Muscatine, then fielded questions from more than 60 local workers at a town hall. Other members toured metal-fabrication, motorcycle and electronics plants to underscore the bill’s potential to spur hiring. Legislators pointed to several headline provisions they say are drawing investment: 100 percent immediate expensing for capital purchases, a permanent research-and-development credit, and a tax-free overtime measure. Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith said the revamped code "strengthens family farms and rebuilds rural economies," while Rep. Pat Fallon touted new funding for military modernisation. Implementation steps are also advancing. Rep. Randy Feenstra confirmed the Agriculture Department will carry out the Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act—folded into the larger bill—to cut premium costs for young producers. Rep. Ronny Jackson called the law’s broader farm-safety-net provisions the most significant since 2002, and Rep. Mike Collins noted language broadening 529 education savings plans. Supporters argue the package will sharpen U.S. competitiveness against China, complementing the 145 percent tariff on Chinese goods that took effect in April. Democrats, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, have separately emphasised state-level investments in farm technology, signalling bipartisan attention to the sector even as Republicans lead the public relations push for the federal law.
It was great joining @SBA_Kelly at Buell Motorcycles to discuss how the One Big, Beautiful Bill will fuel the growth of American industry. As a lifelong rider, I enjoyed hearing more about how this historic legislation will allow them to build even more bikes here in America. https://t.co/jmv97T4HP8
Visited Nueva Vista Community Resources in Santa Cruz to see how they connect families, children, and seniors with vital services. Grateful to Community Bridges and their partners for building a stronger, healthier community, and I’ll keep working in Congress to support that https://t.co/siHiLyQ5w2
Had a wonderful tour of Mayville Engineering Co. facility while I was in Heber Springs! #MEC is the largest fabricator in the US and employs 180 skilled Arkansans who are helping drive our economy. We talked tariffs, workforce challenges, and how Washington can better support https://t.co/Gy5KzCmT8g
