The bill is designed to provide substantial tax breaks to billionaires and corporations, including an unusual tax deduction allowing billionaires to write off private jets. House Democrats have expressed strong opposition to the bill, pledging to vote against it and calling it a betrayal of working families and vulnerable populations such as seniors, veterans, and students. They argue the bill represents the largest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance programs in U.S. history and a significant transfer of wealth from lower-income Americans to the wealthy elite.
