President Donald Trump has signed the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” a government-funding measure that strips Planned Parenthood of federal reimbursements and grants for up to one year. The provision is expected to remove as much as $1 billion in taxpayer support once it takes effect on Friday. Planned Parenthood said the cut represents an existential threat, estimating the loss at $700 million to $1 billion and warning that nearly 200 of its health-care centers could shut their doors. The nonprofit, which operates more than 500 clinics nationwide, relies heavily on Medicaid reimbursements and federal family-planning grants. The organization has vowed to sue the administration, arguing the measure violates long-standing rules that bar Congress from targeting individual providers.
