Perplexity AI has launched Perplexity Labs, a feature for subscribers to its $20-per-month Pro plan. Labs allows users to create analytical reports, spreadsheets, presentations, dynamic dashboards, and interactive web apps within the platform. The tool employs AI agents for tasks such as deep web browsing, code execution, and multi-step reasoning, completing complex projects in about 10 minutes or more. Users can generate and download assets like charts, images, and code, all organized in a dedicated Asset tab. An App tab enables the deployment of interactive web apps, dashboards, and slideshows. Perplexity Labs is accessible on the web, iOS, and Android, with Mac and Windows support coming soon. The Project Gallery showcases examples such as stock portfolio dashboards and interactive educational maps, and dashboards can include features like drop-down menus for data exploration. The launch of Labs follows Perplexity's recent previews of its Comet web browser and the acquisition of Read.vc. The company is reportedly in talks to raise up to $1 billion at a potential $18 billion valuation.
