The company is building a global network of phased array ground stations to enhance earth-to-space communications. Northwood will manufacture antennas in a 3,252-square-meter facility in Torrance, California, and demonstrated its technology by connecting a prototype antenna to a Planet Earth-observation satellite. The company aims to deploy sites on six continents by the end of 2026, with each site offering up to 100 gigabits per second of backhaul capacity. Exowatt, a Miami-based renewable energy startup, announced a $70 million Series A round led by Felicis, with $35 million in equity and $35 million in debt from HSBC Innovation Banking and partners. The company's flagship product, the Exowatt P3, is a shipping container-sized module that collects and stores solar energy as heat, delivering up to 24 hours of power daily and converting it into electricity on demand. Exowatt's technology is designed to address the increasing power needs of AI data centers and other commercial applications, with several commercial deployments planned for 2025 across the United States.
