The International Criminal Court (ICC) has been actively engaged in preliminary examinations regarding alleged crimes in Venezuela. The ICC's Deputy Prosecutor met with Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez in The Hague amid ongoing investigations. Venezuela has denied committing crimes under the Rome Statute and submitted a study highlighting the impact of unilateral coercive measures on the health and lives of its people. The ICC Prosecutor has called on Venezuela to make "genuine efforts" to address human rights violations. Meanwhile, Venezuela has criticized the slow pace of the ICC's preliminary examination concerning alleged crimes against humanity purportedly committed by the United States. In a separate development, the US government, represented by prosecutor Pamela Bondi, has offered a $50 million reward for information leading to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, a move condemned by Iran and the International Antifascist movement. Maduro responded defiantly, inviting US forces to capture him at the presidential palace. The Venezuelan government and its allies have rallied to defend Maduro, emphasizing their strategic partnership with Iran, with whom Venezuela recently celebrated 75 years of diplomatic relations, highlighting cooperation in energy, science, technology, health, agriculture, and industry. Opposition leader María Corina Machado expressed gratitude to the US for increasing the reward on Maduro, citing the Venezuelan government's role in causing widespread misery and violence. The Madres de Plaza de Mayo and the International Democratic Federation of Women have expressed solidarity with Maduro against what they describe as imperialist threats. Colombian President Gustavo Petro criticized the US reward, warning that any military operation without regional approval would constitute aggression. A retired US security official confirmed the existence of a specific plan to capture Maduro.
