Venezuela's Interior, Justice and Peace Minister Diosdado Cabello has reported the dismantling of a series of terrorist operations aimed at destabilizing the country. Authorities seized explosive materials in two warehouses located in Monagas state, specifically in Maturín. Cabello linked these activities to Venezuela's far-right opposition and criminal gangs, alleging direct support from U.S. imperialism. He also disclosed that the government thwarted a planned terrorist attack in Plaza Venezuela, Caracas, which was scheduled for the previous Sunday. Additionally, Cabello claimed to have precise information on the whereabouts of opposition leader María Corina Machado, who has been in hiding since January 2025 following protests in Caracas. Security forces remain deployed nationwide to maintain peace amid what the minister described as an escalation of terrorism by narcotic-related criminal groups and extremist factions.
