Capcom has released full patch notes for Monster Hunter Wilds version 1.021, which is scheduled to go live on 13 August. The download is roughly 3 GB on PlayStation 5, 2 GB on Xbox Series X|S and PC, or 6 GB for players who install the high-resolution texture pack on Steam. The update moves several end-game features forward from a later roadmap. Players at Hunter Rank 100 or higher will gain access to new nine-star quests featuring tempered versions of nine monsters, including Gore Magala and Mizutsune. A new appraisal item called Glowing Stone can drop from these hunts and convert into randomly skilled talismans, extending the equipment grind. Capcom has also expanded planned weapon tuning, applying balance changes to 11 weapon classes and introducing a recoil-aim assist option, quality-of-life menu filters and numerous bug fixes. Performance concerns, particularly on PC, remain under review. In a developer message, director Yuya Tokuda apologised for lingering issues and said the team is “proceeding with caution” to reduce CPU load without degrading overall frame rates. Additional optimisation is targeted for Title Update 4, expected this winter, alongside further GPU load mitigation.
