FromSoftware said it will roll out Patch 1.02 for Elden Ring Nightreign on 30 July, adding the long-promised two-player “Duo Expeditions” mode to the co-operative spin-off of its 2022 hit. The update will also introduce quality-of-life tweaks, including broader Relic filtering and other user-interface improvements. The change gives players the option to tackle Limveld’s roguelike challenges solo, in pairs or as the original three-person team, addressing criticism that the absence of a duos setting limited flexibility. Director Junya Ishizaki had acknowledged shortly before launch that the omission was an oversight and pledged post-release support. Nightreign has sold more than 5 million copies since its 30 May debut, according to publisher Bandai Namco, making it one of FromSoftware’s fastest-selling titles. The studio plans to add another rotation of high-difficulty Everdark Sovereigns on 31 July, giving players an immediate test of the new two-player format.
