Major fighting-game publishers used the opening weekend of the Evolution Championship Series to unveil a wave of content aimed at keeping their competitive communities engaged through next year. Marvel Games and Second Dinner announced that “Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls” will hold a closed beta on PlayStation 5 from Sept. 5–7, with sign-ups now open. The title is the comics giant’s first original console fighter in more than a decade and is scheduled for release in 2026. Arc System Works said that Lucy, the breakout protagonist of Netflix’s anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners,” joins “Guilty Gear Strive” on Aug. 21 as the fourth character in Season Pass 4. The developer also confirmed that a full Version 2.00 update for the game is in the works for 2026, signalling continued support four years after launch. SNK added to the series of reveals by confirming that Ken will become playable in “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” today at 5 p.m. Pacific, expanding the roster ahead of the title’s expected 2026 debut.
