Sony Interactive Entertainment on 9 July unveiled the July additions to its PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, headlined by CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG “Cyberpunk 2077.” The title is available immediately for Extra and Premium subscribers as part of PlayStation Plus’ 15th-anniversary celebrations. Sony is pairing the release with a 30% discount on the game’s 2023 expansion, “Phantom Liberty,” cutting the price to $20.99 (£17.49) through 23 July. Most of the catalog will arrive in stages: Planet Zoo and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden join on 15 July, while the co-op survival game Abiotic Factor follows on 22 July. Additional July entries include Bluey: The Videogame, Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6 and New World: Aeternum. Classic vehicular-combat titles Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 are being added to the Premium tier. PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers gained access earlier this month to Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV and Jusant. Vice President of Global Services Nick Maguire reiterated this month that Sony’s strategy—introducing marquee first-party titles roughly a year after release while supplementing the catalog with select day-and-date indie games—“is working really well” for the platform.
