SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service has surpassed 500,000 customers in Canada, providing connectivity to remote users such as dog sledders on extended hunting trips. The company has also validated Cisco Systems' Wi-Fi routers for satellite traffic through a pilot program, enabling seamless integration of space-based wireless communication with terrestrial networks. Meanwhile, Starlink plans to expand its service to Vietnam by the fourth quarter of 2025, with the Vietnamese government granting a five-year trial period allowing zero foreign ownership restrictions through 2030. Ground stations are already being established in Vietnam as part of this rollout. Users in rural areas, such as parts of Idaho, have reported improved internet speed and reliability with Starlink over several years of use.
