Former U.S. President Donald Trump said he "knows exactly what I’m doing" on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, defending his approach in a message posted on Truth Social on Monday. The statement comes three days after Trump hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin at a brief summit in Anchorage, Alaska, and ahead of a scheduled White House meeting this week with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders. At the Alaska talks, Putin outlined demands that Kyiv relinquish Crimea and forego NATO membership as a basis for ending the war, according to accounts cited by conservative outlet AMAC. Trump’s social-media post signals he intends to steer negotiations personally despite criticism from foreign-policy veterans.
