Trump reposted the comment on his Truth Social account, signaling support for a negotiated settlement that would leave Russian-controlled areas such as Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea outside Kyiv’s control. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asked earlier in the day about similar suggestions, reiterated that the country’s constitution bars any government from ceding sovereign territory. Kyiv maintains that Russia must withdraw from all land it has occupied since 2014 as a precondition for lasting peace.
