Chinese smartphone manufacturer MEIZU has officially launched its Note 22 series, marking a notable return to the global market with AI-powered technology including rugged phones, large batteries, smart rings, and augmented reality glasses. The launch event was streamed live on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. MEIZU aims to reestablish itself in a competitive smartphone market that has seen shifts in production and consumer loyalty over the past decade. Data from 2015 to 2024 shows Samsung and Apple as dominant producers, with Samsung's production decreasing from 321.5 million units in 2015 to 225.8 million in 2024, while Apple increased slightly from 215.3 million to 222.5 million units. Google has entered the market with 10.5 million units produced in 2024. Despite a general decline in smartphone purchases compared to ten years ago, Apple and Samsung maintain strong brand loyalty, with Apple continuing to lead in consumer loyalty despite a slight decline. MEIZU's return comes amid this intense competition among top smartphone manufacturers globally.
