Ahead of Argentina's legislative elections scheduled for October 26, 2025, key political alliances have been finalized across the country. The libertarian party La Libertad Avanza (LLA), led by President Javier Milei, has solidified a strategic alliance with the center-right PRO party, headed by former President Mauricio Macri. This coalition will run joint candidate lists in Buenos Aires City and over ten provinces, aiming to support Milei's reform agenda in Congress through 2027. The alliance was confirmed following meetings between Karina Milei, president of LLA and secretary general of the Presidency, and Macri. LLA launched its campaign in Buenos Aires Province on September 7 under the slogan "Kirchnerismo Nunca Más," a phrase that has drawn criticism for its historical connotations. Meanwhile, the Peronist party has achieved near-national unity, presenting unified fronts in 17 provinces, with exceptions in Córdoba, Jujuy, Salta, and Tierra del Fuego, where internal divisions persist. Other regional agreements include alliances between LLA and local leaders such as Alfredo Cornejo in Mendoza and Rogelio Frigerio in Entre Ríos, both positioning against the return of Kirchnerism. The PRO party is experiencing internal challenges but has accepted a subordinate role within the LLA-led coalition. The upcoming elections will determine the renewal of 127 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 in the Senate, shaping the legislative landscape for the remainder of Milei's presidency.
