The British & Irish Lions overpowered the Queensland Reds 52–12 in Brisbane on Wednesday, running in eight tries to record their second consecutive half-century on the Australia tour. Wing Tommy Freeman crossed twice, with further scores from Andrew Porter, Duhan van der Merwe, captain Maro Itoje, Jac Morgan, Huw Jones and replacement Garry Ringrose. The Lions led 21–12 at the interval and pulled away after the break, dominating territory and set-piece play in front of more than 46,000 spectators. Queensland had struck first through prop Jefferey Toomaga-Allen and added a second try via centre Josh Flook, but the hosts were unable to contain a Lions pack that won 11 line-outs through Itoje alone and repeatedly breached the gain line. Morgan, named player of the match, topped the tackle count alongside Jack Conan, while Freeman and Conan shared the lead for carries. The emphatic victory was tempered by concern for Elliot Daly, a late inclusion at full-back after Hugo Keenan withdrew with illness. Daly left the field in the second half clutching his left forearm and will undergo an X-ray, head coach Andy Farrell said. Should the injury rule Daly out of Saturday’s fixture against the New South Wales Waratahs, Scotland’s Blair Kinghorn is in line to start, with Keenan’s availability still uncertain.

Interesting in the #REDvBIL game, the Lions almost exclusively used Maro Itoje as the line out target. He won 11 line out's, next best for the Lions was James Ryan with 2. Itoje's lock partner, Chessum, had one.
