Cadillac has agreed to sign Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas as its driver line-up for the marque’s debut in the 2026 Formula 1 season, according to multiple media reports citing sources close to the negotiations. RacingNews365, Newsweek and ESPN all reported over the weekend that contracts are in place and a formal unveiling is planned in the coming days, likely ahead of next week’s Dutch Grand Prix. Pérez, 35, is set to return to the grid on a deal reported to run for at least two seasons after leaving Red Bull Racing at the end of 2024. Bottas, 35, will re-enter full-time competition after a stint as Mercedes reserve following his departure from Kick Sauber. The pair bring 16 Grand Prix victories and more than 450 race starts of combined experience to the new outfit. General Motors secured FIA approval last year to enter Formula 1 under the Cadillac banner, creating an 11-team field from 2026. Recruiting two veteran drivers is intended to give the American entrant immediate technical feedback and brand visibility as it prepares its first chassis and power-train package for the sport’s next regulatory cycle.
