Two police officers from the Delegacia da Criança e do Adolescente (DCA) in Brasília, Gustavo Gonçalves Suppa and Victor Baracho Alves, have been suspended following an incident in Asa Norte where they were filmed assaulting a publicist, Diego Torres, 42, in front of his 5-year-old son. The officers reportedly abandoned the child alone in a car after detaining and physically restraining the father during a traffic-related altercation. The child sustained bruises from the episode. Diego Torres described the police action as "totally disproportionate" and requested that the officers undergo toxicology tests. The Association of Conselheiros Tutelares do Distrito Federal criticized the police conduct, highlighting the neglect and trauma inflicted on the child. The case has drawn condemnation from parliamentarians and raised concerns about the failure of state agents tasked with protecting children. Meanwhile, unrelated incidents of violence and police actions have been reported in São Paulo and Minas Gerais, including attacks on media personnel and a federal police operation targeting hate crimes and Nazi apologia in Minas Gerais.
