Guarda Civil Finds 15 Ossadas in 13-Grave Clandestine Cemetery Linked to PCC in São Paulo’s Zona Sul Near Billings Reservoir
Authorities in São Paulo have discovered a clandestine cemetery in the Jardim Apurá neighborhood, located in the Zona Sul (South Zone) near Parque dos Búfalos and close to the Billings Reservoir. The site was initially reported following an anonymous tip about suspicious activity near the park. The Guarda Civil Metropolitana Ambiental (GCM) found 15 human skeletal remains distributed across 13 graves. Police suspect the cemetery is linked to organized crime, specifically the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The discovery has drawn attention to the issue of illicit burial sites connected to criminal organizations in the region. Separately, in Rio de Janeiro, police uncovered another clandestine cemetery in the Zona Oeste (West Zone), reportedly linked to the Comando Vermelho (CV) criminal faction. These findings highlight ongoing challenges related to organized crime in major Brazilian cities.
