British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will unveil his first public art show, “Cosmic Carpark Paintings,” at Heni Gallery in London’s Soho district. The exhibition opens to the public on 11 July and runs through 1 August, showcasing abstract canvases he produced last year in a disused city car park while between stops on his Mathematics world tour. Visitors can buy original works and limited-edition prints for about £900 ($1,150) each. Half of the sale price of every painting—and all of Sheeran’s personal proceeds—will be directed to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, the charity he launched earlier this year to widen access to music education in UK schools. Created using brightly coloured house paints splashed onto large canvases, the pieces reflect techniques made famous by Jackson Pollock. Sheeran, who began painting in 2019, said artist Damien Hirst and Heni founder Joe Hage urged him to mount the exhibition. Admission to the gallery show is free.
