Pop star Olivia Rodrigo personally covered the cost of mental-health therapy for every member of her band and touring crew during, and in between, the 102-date “Guts” world tour, guitarist Daisy Spencer said on the StageLeft podcast. Spencer called the arrangement “unheard of” in live music, adding that weekly or bi-weekly sessions remained available even when the show was off the road. The initiative, organised with tour manager Marty Hom, ran from the tour’s launch in California in February 2024 through its final concert in Manchester on 1 July 2025. Spencer said the programme reignited her own commitment to counselling and described Rodrigo, 22, as “the dreamiest boss of all time.” Rodrigo, whose father is a family therapist, has spoken publicly about beginning therapy at 16 and regularly highlights mental-health issues. Her gesture adds to a growing push within the music industry to improve psychological support for touring personnel, a workforce studies show is more prone to depression than the general population. The singer headlines Portugal’s NOS Alive festival on 10 July before additional summer appearances.
