TotalEnergies has divested 50% of its 604-megawatt portfolio of wind, solar and small hydro assets in Portugal to a consortium of MM Capital Partners 2, Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure and Mizuho Leasing for €178.5 million ($210 million). The French energy group will continue to operate the projects and keep the remaining half-ownership, saying the transaction frees up capital while preserving its local presence. In a parallel move, the company closed the acquisition of a 50% stake in AES’s renewable energy portfolio in the Dominican Republic, which includes solar, wind and battery storage projects. TotalEnergies said the twin deals support its plan to reach 35 gigawatts of gross installed renewable capacity by the end of 2025 and exceed 100 terawatt-hours of annual clean-power generation by 2030.
