China’s Ministry of Commerce held talks with senior executives from Boeing Co. and Apple Inc., state broadcaster China Central Television reported on Wednesday. The meeting marks one of the highest-level encounters this year between Beijing and two of the United States’ largest multinationals. CCTV did not disclose the agenda or the identities of the company representatives. Boeing and Apple have sizable commercial footprints in China, and both companies have been navigating a challenging policy environment following the United States’ imposition of a 145% tariff on Chinese imports in April. The rare joint session signals that Chinese authorities remain open to dialogue with key foreign investors even as broader trade tensions persist.
