Concurrently, China's Ministry of Education released its second study abroad alert for 2025, advising Chinese students to carefully assess safety risks before studying in the Philippines. The alert highlights an unstable security situation in the Philippines, marked by a recent surge in crimes targeting Chinese nationals. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian confirmed the issuance of this alert, emphasizing the government's concern over the safety of its citizens abroad.
