China opened the third China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing on Wednesday, bringing together 651 companies and institutions from 75 countries and regions for a five-day showcase aimed at deepening global industrial ties. The national-level event, held at the China International Exhibition Center’s Shunyi venue from 16–20 July, features more than 65 percent Fortune Global 500 participants and industry leaders. Foreign involvement has risen to 35 percent of exhibitors—about half of them from Europe and the United States—underscoring continued interest in the Chinese market despite heightened trade friction. Newcomers this year include Nvidia, Schneider Electric, L’Oréal, Louis Dreyfus and Medtronic. Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, speaking at the opening ceremony, called China’s supply chain a “miracle” and confirmed plans to resume shipments of the company’s H20 chips to the country following recent U.S. export-licence approvals. Vice-Premier He Lifeng used the opening to warn of “turbulence and transformation” in the global economy and urged nations to resist politicising trade. Delegates jointly issued a Beijing Initiative pledging support for multilateralism, an open trading system anchored by the WTO, and closer collaboration to build greener, more resilient supply chains. CISCE is organised around six themed chains—Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Smart Vehicles, Digital Technology, Healthy Living and Green Agriculture—along with a services zone hosting more than 70 side events. Executives said the platform offers timely opportunities to diversify sourcing, collaborate on low-carbon technologies and cushion supply networks against geopolitical shocks.
