*NIVIDA H20 STOCKPILE WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO MEET CHINA'S ACCELERATING DEMAND FOR A.I. COMPUTE - JEFFERIES
Jefferies reports NVIDIA's H20 AI chip supply (600K–900K units) falls short of China's demand, which could reach 1.8M units, following a temporary easing of U.S. export restrictions.
Jefferies States NVIDIA’s H20 Inventory Will Fall Short of Growing China Needs 🚨💻🇨🇳
Nvidia’s stockpile of its H20 artificial-intelligence accelerator, estimated by Jefferies at 600,000 to 900,000 units, is insufficient to meet China’s rapidly rising appetite for the processor, the brokerage said in a note on Monday. Jefferies projects Chinese demand could reach about 1.8 million units after the United States temporarily relaxed export controls on AI chips, allowing shipments of the H20, a model designed to comply with U.S. rules. The imbalance suggests Nvidia may face order backlogs or will have to ration supply among Chinese customers despite the brief regulatory window.
